Bringing Amazon Reviews to Your Shopify Store

Amazon makes it annoyingly hard to get your own reviews out. Some apps have figured it out, others haven't. We tested them.

Amazon reviews are valuable, they’re often the most detailed feedback you’ll get from customers. But Amazon makes it notoriously difficult to use those reviews anywhere else.

There’s no export button. No official API for reviews. Amazon actively discourages moving customer feedback off their platform. So how do apps get around this?

The Amazon Review Challenge

Unlike Etsy, which has a reasonably accessible API, Amazon locks down review data tightly. This means:

  1. No official API access for product reviews
  2. Scraping is risky and can break without warning
  3. Manual imports require ongoing work each time you want updates
  4. Continuous sync is technically challenging

Most apps resort to Chrome extensions or CSV uploads for Amazon reviews. True automation is rare.

The Apps Compared

Reviewsion

Best for ongoing Amazon sync

Reviewsion offers Amazon review import with continuous sync capability, though it’s limited to product-level reviews (not seller-level feedback).

What works well:

  • Continuous sync means new Amazon reviews appear automatically
  • API-based approach is more reliable than pure scraping
  • AI detects sentiment mismatches in imported reviews
  • Works alongside Etsy and eBay imports

Considerations:

  • Limited to product-level reviews (not seller reviews)
  • Real-time sync requires Pro plan ($19/mo)
  • Amazon’s restrictions mean some reviews may not import

Good fit if: You want hands-off Amazon review import and understand the product-level limitation.

Judge.me

Free manual import option

Judge.me offers Amazon import through their Chrome extension1. At $0–$15/mo2, it’s a manual process you can run any time—not automated, but free and it works.

What works well:

  • Completely free to use
  • Chrome extension is straightforward
  • Can re-import any time when you get new reviews
  • Established solution with years of support

Considerations:

  • Manual process, you have to run the extension yourself
  • Manual process each time, not continuous sync
  • No automatic product matching

Good fit if: You just want to grab your existing Amazon reviews once without paying anything.

Loox

CSV import only

Loox ($12.99–$99.99/mo)3 supports Amazon through CSV import on certain plans. This means exporting reviews from Amazon (which Amazon doesn’t make easy) and uploading manually.

What works well:

  • Beautiful review displays once imported
  • Strong visual presentation features

Considerations:

  • CSV-only is cumbersome
  • Amazon doesn’t offer easy CSV export
  • No automation whatsoever
  • Higher pricing for the feature

Good fit if: You already have Amazon reviews in a spreadsheet and want gorgeous visual displays.

Ali Reviews (Kudosi)

Chrome extension with AI translation

Ali Reviews offers Amazon import via Chrome extension4, plus AI-powered translation for international reviews.

What works well:

  • Chrome extension works for Amazon, Etsy, eBay
  • Affordable pricing ($0–$49.95/mo)5
  • AI-powered translation via Gemini6
  • Good for dropshipping workflows

Considerations:

  • Extension-based means manual work required
  • No continuous sync
  • Free plan limited to 10 reviews per product5

Good fit if: You’re importing reviews from multiple platforms and need translation features.

Understanding Amazon Import Limitations

Every app faces the same Amazon limitations:

  1. Product reviews only: Most apps can only import reviews tied to specific products, not your overall seller rating
  2. No official access: Amazon doesn’t provide API access for review export
  3. Scraping risks: Extensions that scrape Amazon can break when Amazon changes their site
  4. Manual work: True automation is difficult due to Amazon’s restrictions

The Bottom Line

For Amazon review import, Reviewsion offers the best combination of automation and reliability with its continuous sync. Judge.me is the go-to free option for manual imports you can run any time.

Loox requires too much manual work to be practical for Amazon. Ali Reviews is solid for dropshippers who need multi-platform import with translation.

Keep in mind: Amazon import is inherently limited compared to Etsy or eBay. Set realistic expectations about what any app can accomplish.
